The DTCM Manager of Events, Mr. Marwan bin Beyat, said: "Dubai is a visitor-friendly destination and major popular public attractions like hotels, parks and shopping malls, offer facilities that enable physically challenged, elderly and special needs people to explore and enjoy the emirate."
The DTCM stall at Rehab-2004 offers insights to the special facilities available to this segment of the society and the initiatives being pursued to better the scenario.
Dubai hotels and hotel apartments offer facilities and services required by the physically challenged and elderly, but two properties, J.W. Marriott and Hyatt Regency, have given special attention to the needs of the people who require extra care from the society.
Dubai Cruise Terminal, operated by the DTCM, has facilities that makes movement easier for physically challenged and elderly people.
The department has a special Task Force for Disabled People with representatives of hotels and tour operators as members. The department is activating the role of the task force to broaden the facilities available for the physically challenged people.
