AAME set to be biggest to date

The ninth edition of Automotive Aftermarket Middle East (AAME) - the region's leading international trade show for vehicle parts, accessories, tyres, batteries and garage equipment - is to double in size this year as it graduates to two halls at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre (DIEC) - a move the organisers say reflects the rapid growth of the local industry.

'With the regional spare parts market worth in excess of $11 billion, we are continuously striving to offer our exhibitors the best possible chance to be involved in a share of that,' said Mohammed Falaknaz, Vice President, International Expo-Consults (IEC), which organises the show. 'Once again, we have outgrown last year's facilities and this has prompted the decision to double the event's size this year.

'The evolution of the show mirrors the development of the regional industry, which is now achieving an average of 6% growth annually - one of the highest in the world.'

With a visitor footprint taking in the entire Middle East and North Africa, the show, which runs from the 28-30th March, serves an industry where demand for the latest spare parts, components and accessories is being fuelled by one of the world's highest ownership of vehicles as well as heightened customer expectation and competition.

'AAME 2004 will provide a window into the autoparts market and will act as a vertical showcase serving a sector which can only continue to develop with the announcement of Dubai Auto-Parts City Free Zone,' said Falaknaz.

'To date we have seven pavilions committed, representing the aftermarket industries in India, Taiwan, China, Turkey, Australia, Pakistan, Iran.

'We also have companies coming from Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Malaysia, UAE, USA, Cyprus, Singapore, Thailand, Belgium, South Africa, Uganda, Spain and France to take part,' said Falaknaz.

AAME 2004 is the only exclusive International Automotive Aftermarket Event in the Middle East and is supported by nine International Industry associations from South America, Europe, Australasia, North America and Asia.
