DCCI and UAE University sign MoU

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry and UAE University have signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims at providing comprehensive concepts and mechanism to exchange human research and technical recourses available with both entities.
According to the MoU, DCCI will provide support to specialized training programs, scientific conferences, workshops and symposium at the UAEU and it will cooperate in studies in economic, industrial, social, management and environmental fields. The Information Technology (IT) will also be in focus for the mutual cooperation between the two organizations.
The agreement came into force immediately and an Executive Committee has been formed to identify the areas of common interest and to make strategic plans covering all types of cooperation and methods for execution. The committee consists of six members, three from each organization.
"The MoU reflects the keen interests of the Chamber to benefit from the academic and scientific experience of the UAEU to serve the interest of private and public sector", The Director General of DCCI said. He added that the chamber is moving towards the most recent trends on development of trade and industry.
"Since the chamber represents different economic interests in Dubai, it realizes the importance of a cooperation with the University. The society will benefit from this partnership due to the excellent reputation of the university especially in areas that are vital for the chamber's interest," said Mr. Al Mutaiwee.
Dr Hadef Al Dhaheri, Vice Chancellor of the UAEU described the agreement as another step forward in fostering integration between two important institutions of the society that will benefit both the UAEU and the DCCI.
"The university is looking forward to this important partnership to work for improving the economic and industrial sector in Dubai through Chamber," said Dr Al Dhaheri.
He said the cooperation with Dubai Chamber illustrates the well established policies of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher of Education and Chancellor of the University. These call for working with the private and public sector companies inside and outside UAE to promote the quality of education and also serve the public interest.
Dr Maitha Al Shamsi, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research Affairs said UAEU especially the Research Affairs sector is looking towards fostering all kinds of cooperation with DCCI.
"It is highly important to participate with the chamber in the development activities," she said and added that the MoU between the university and DCCI, demonstrates the significance of coordinated efforts that will play an important role in the progress of different sectors of the society.
