Dr. John P. Keenan to address meeting

  • United Arab Emirates: Thursday, January 29 - 2004 at 09:38
  • PRESS RELEASE

Dr. John P. Keenan, an internationally recognized organizational psychologist, will address the monthly breakfast meeting of the National Association of Freight Logistics Professionals on the 21st century challenges leaders in the Middle East must face.

The forum is co-sponsored by Translogistique - Canada and the Institute for Leadership and Global Education (ILGE).

Dr. Keenan will reinforce that today's leaders must adopt new, more dynamic mind-sets and develop new skills and competencies for continued success. As an example of a good leader, he will point out that his Highness Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan has continued to bring the country from being a nomadic tribal society to a modern civilized world class city and country through his ability to provide vision, build consensus through a team approach, and exhibit zeal and commitment to realize his vision. Dr. Keenan will also point out that leadership competencies exhibited by Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed also provide a good model for current leaders to emulate. For example, Sheikh Mohammed has helped Dubai become the commercial leader of the region through his focus on "manufacturing opportunities" and developing its Vision 2010.

This challenging and engaging forum will have an alternative "futures" focus, providing all participants an opportunity to engage in critical and break-through thinking, dialogue, and a chance to examine best practices. Issues addressed will include the need to develop leaders in business, government, education, tourism, healthcare, logistics, as well as the special needs of young Arab leaders and the emerging the role of women as leaders of the future of the region.

Dr. Keenan is President of the Institute for Leadership and Global Education (ILGE), a Division of John P. Keenan and Associates International (JPKAI) which has been in existence for 17 years as an internationally recognized consulting business.
