Healthcare and occupational health initiatives have witnessed unparalleled growth in the last two years.
Until now, many Middle East medical practitioners have been forced to travel out of the region to continue their professional education and ensure that they remain fully up to date with all the latest methodologies and techniques.
By demonstrating compliance with the American Academy of Continuing Medical Education's (AACME) international standards for quality continuing medical education programmes, the 2nd Annual GCC Occupational Health Conference (29 Feb -3 Mar, Fairmont hotel, Dubai, www.iirme.com/oh) has earned the AACME's Gold Seal of Accreditation. This important conference for all healthcare professionals in the region takes place from February 29th in Dubai at the Fairmont Hotel.
"We are delighted that the 2nd Annual GCC Occupational Health Conference, organised by the Institute for International Research Middle East (IIR) has achieved this important accreditation. This award demonstrates that an independent evaluation of its compliance with state-of-the-art performance standards has been sought," says Cynthia Mueller, Co-Chair, International Continuing Medical Education Subcommittee, AACME.
We sought accreditation for our 2nd Annual GCC Occupational Health Conference because we want to be distinguished in the region in providing quality medical programmes" says Jackie Wilks, the Conference Director for the event. "We view obtaining the American Academy of CME's accreditation as another step toward providing excellent medical conferences; speakers' bureau, scientific contents, and administration."
"The AACME faculty, as well as the sponsoring, and co-sponsoring organisations have all been very supportive of the process. It gives participants the confidence that quality assured programmes by a globally recognised accreditation body are being provided" said Wilks. "Our status as an accredited organisation allows us to provide that extra measure of confidence that the community wants to see in its physicians, other health care professionals, and health care service providers" she concluded.
As a worldwide independent accreditation body, The AACME has served as the international predominant standards-setting and accrediting body for continuing medical education for over 10 years in over 96 countries worldwide, providing the highest level quality accreditation for nearly 16,000 member governmental and non-governmental hospitals, 5120 medical schools, 1300 medical specialty societies and state medical associations, and over 610 pharmaceutical companies, in addition to recognising over 1230 International and, State Medical Societies, Medical Syndicates, governmental and private medical organisations.
