The PeopleSoft Certified Professional Program, available to both PeopleSoft customers and the general public, assures companies that their IT professionals have met rigorous certification standards established by PeopleSoft and its customers, ensuring a high skill level for local talent.
The analyst community has welcomed the new PeopleSoft initiative. "Our research has shown that well-designed certification programs help ensure that the people implementing a company's software will optimize that investment," said Mike Brennan, program manager for Learning Services Research, IDC, a global research group. "Incomplete product knowledge can result in flawed implementations, cost overruns, and poor user experiences."
Demand for certification has been increasing across the Middle East as companies expand and develop their deployment of enterprise resource planning technology. The new certification will help to increase the ERP knowledge base in the region, and maximize the efficiency of PeopleSoft's software.
People who obtain certification receive recognition in their field and are better qualified to compete for IT positions that require an in-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft's applications and developer toolset. In addition, certified participants are authorized to use the PeopleSoft Certified Professional logo on business cards.
PeopleSoft Certified Developer is the first in a series of certifications under the new program and assures companies that IT employees have a high standard of knowledge.
"Demand for qualified IT professionals is high. Expanding this program across the region will improve all aspects of the software use, including helping our customers find the best resources for their software projects," said Tim Caulkett, regional director, PeopleSoft, Middle East. "The new Professional Certification Program also provides IT professionals with the knowledge, skills, and industry recognition they need to compete for highly coveted IT positions."
The PeopleSoft Certified Developer offering certifies participants on PeopleSoft's 8.4 toolset, PeopleTools.
