Handicrafts Souq at Al Seef Street attracts hundreds of visitors

The Handicrafts Souq is attracting hundreds of visitors everyday who look to buy hand-made specialties from different countries, brought here specially for Dubai Shopping Festival 2004.
Suhiela Gobash, Head of Al Seef Street Committee, said, "This is the first time that the Handicrafts Souq is a part of DSF and this event reflects the theme of DSF 2004, 'One World, One Family, One Festival'. The 7 countries participating in the Handicrafts Souq are India, Syria, Jordan, Palestine, Iran, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. The 14 outlets feature 30 artisans, who create the handicrafts at the venue itself."
"The handicrafts at this Souq are of a great variety and the artisans create the handicrafts in front of the visitors. Some of these creations are etching on bronze, designs with sand, furniture decorated with shells, handmade accessories, traditional 'Abayas' and dresses that are embroidered by hand, glasses, stuffed falcons and animals among many others.
This Souq is witnessing a large number of visitors everyday, and it is open daily from 4pm till midnight.
