Krasnador region to establish a Trade Centre in Dubai
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, February 11 - 2004 at 09:35
- PRESS RELEASE
The Krasnador Region in Russia is to set up a Trade Centre in Dubai with the aim to consolidate trade relations with the region.
The delegation was headed by H.E Tkachenko Yuri, the President of Krasnodor Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Mr. Gregory Fomine, the Director of the Russian Trade Centre, and comprised 19 distinguished businessmen from the Krasnodor region, along with several government officials and members of Parliament. The companies represented dealt with foodstuffs, and industrial and agricultural products.
Mr. Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al Mutaiwee, the Director General of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry pointed out that the economic relation between the two countries has witnessed a marked growth, as the non-oil trade between Dubai and Russia has reached 1.1 billion UAD in 2002, (about $305 million), compared to 381 million UAD in 2001, (about $104 million), registering an immense increase of 194%.
H.E Tkachenko Yuri explained that although figures show that the trade between the two countries has increased immensely, economic relations between Dubai and our region in particular are still weak, "so we have come to Dubai with the aim of consolidating the business and economic relations between Krasnodar and Dubai in particular as that will also pave the way for stronger relations with the other regional markets".
Mr. Al Mutaiwee was pleased their decision to establish the trade centre as he said: "It would greatly enhance the bilateral trade relations, acting as a link between businessmen in this region and their counterparts in Krasnodar, and that this initiative will help consolidate business and economic relations between the UAE and Russia, and highlighted that Dubai acts as a key gateway to the regions and international markets and the centre of export and re-export operations to the Indian subcontinent, Iran, and east & West Africa, and can therefore play an important role in linking the Russian trade with these markets through the highly developed and integrated infrastructure facilities available in the Emirate."
