Investors in the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) can now follow changes in both local and international financial markets minute by minute thanks to a new service launched in Kuwait by Reuters, in cooperation with the Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC). MTC, the only operator to provide such a service in Kuwait.
Michael Kuli, Reuters managing director in the Middle East said: "The modern investor who is constantly on the move needs quick and easy access to accurate financial information to allow him to make the right decision at the right time. Reuters, through its state-of-the-art technology and unmatched content, is best positioned to cater for his needs."
He added: "We are very happy to be working with MTC, which is one of Kuwait's most progressive and forward looking companies to put our technological and financial expertise at the fingertips of the sophisticated Kuwaiti investor."
smartWatch, which comes with a wide screen, has a Chart Page that allows the investor to create ten customised market trend charts and a News Page that displays the latest financial news headlines to assist him in decision-making.
Besides financial information and charts, smartWatch can access current money and treasury news headlines and can also be connected to a PC for even more power and flexibility. The device features up to seven Rates Pages. For Reuters Data, it displays forex and money market rates, derivatives, capital markets, stocks and indices. For KSE Data, it includes all the KSE stocks, indices and the currency rate of the Kuwaiti Dinar.
A "Limit Alerts" function on the pager allows the investor to create trading limits and alerts which allow the user to be notified instantly when these limits have been breached. smartWatch can also be set to alert the investor if any of the prices from the most recently viewed display screen have been changed.
An optional Smartscreen software can be added to convert the user's PC into a fully-featured broadcast financial workstation with powerful and flexible functionality, allowing him to monitor multiple market rates, charts and news on one PC display screen.
Michael Kuli commented: "smartWatch is an easy and convenient way to keep the mobile investor in Kuwait abreast of the changes in the financial markets, both here and internationally."
