- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Civil Defence (DCD) has been conducting various programmes aimed at generating greater awareness among residents and visitors during Dubai Shopping Festival on a number of safety measures that have been adopted to ensure a safe and peaceful festival.
He said: "We have been implementing this awareness programme for the benefit of thousands of residents and visitors to ensure a peaceful DSF so that they take away fond memories of this festival. We focus on letting people know about the safety measures we have adopted, the safety precautions they will have to take and also what can, and has to be done during accidents and similar emergencies".
He said that since tens of thousands of people visit Dubai during DSF, the DCD has to play a key role in protecting the image of Dubai as a safe venue.
Information is also being provided through the media in Arabic and English for the benefit of residents and guests during DSF 2004.
Among the activities that are being undertaken by DCD are an awareness programme in association with Dubai radio, daily quiz competitions at Global Village, researches and surveys to get the feedbacks and views of visitors, and taking DSF visitors on a guided tour of key locations with the help of a group of volunteers from Gharnata School.
