- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 12 - 2004 at 12:35
- PRESS RELEASE
On the evening of 11 February 2004, University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) officially opened its new office in Dubai.
CIE qualifications have been offered in the UAE for many years and CIE representatives have been based in Dubai for the past three years. Waseem Al Hanbali, Business Development Manager, has been running the CIE Dubai office throughout this time. In November 2002, Martine El Debs, Regional Sales Representative, joined CIE to work alongside Waseem. They have provided invaluable support and information to CIE Centres in the UAE and elsewhere in the Middle East.
Paul Lewis, CIE's Director for the Middle East and North Africa, sees the new office as a positive step forward and further evidence of CIE's commitment to the region: 'We frequently receive positive feedback about the support provided by in-country representatives and I believe this new office will enhance our service provision in the future. Alongside our office in Cairo, the CIE Dubai office really does bring great customer service closer to our Centres.'
The official opening attracted a range of CIE partners and contacts and was attended by various Cambridge-based representatives, including Ken Murray, CIE's Chief Executive, who made a speech to mark this prestigious event.
