Adobe's comprehensive Intelligent Document Platform can effectively replace inefficient, manual, paper-based processes in an organization with streamlined, automated processes.

"In today's competitive business environment with the rapid growth in Information Technology, managing and optimizing personal and organizational information is a company's greatest challenge. Documents are a critical part of business processes, and we are offering Middle East businesses integrated next-generation solutions to increase operational efficiencies through streamlined document management," said Ibrahim Lahoud, Middle East Regional Manager, Adobe Systems Europe Ltd.

"As the need to share or interact with data stored in enterprise applications has expanded beyond the initial set of core users, the expense and time required to adapt the systems to meet this need have become prohibitive. The result has been a proliferation of manual processes, leading to process inefficiencies, delays, and poor quality of information dissemination and sharing. Adobe's solutions are built on a secure and flexible intelligent document architecture that extends the reach of enterprise applications to universal clients", added Lahoud.

The Adobe intelligent document architecture enables enterprises to solve these problems by facilitating information sharing and business transactions that extend beyond core applications and users. Intelligent documents retain the best characteristics of static documents, such as the familiar look and feel, while adding powerful business logic capabilities, such as data validations and routing instructions that allow for more efficient interaction with enterprise applications. Supported on every major operating system and virtually every electronic device, the intelligent document architecture provides access to intelligent documents through universal clients such as free Adobe Reader software and Web browsers. Universal clients enable users inside and outside the firewall to interact with intelligent documents over any device, from desktop and laptop computers to PDAs, mobile phones, and kiosks.

"Adobe Process Management Software connects documents, people, and processes to improve customer satisfaction, increase security and enhance document sharing. This recognition, from a well respected publication like Transform, is a further endorsement of Adobe's superiority in the enterprise platform software business, as well as of our commitment to drive technology innovation in content and process management," said Lahoud. "We are delighted with the global recognition the product has received and intend to use the product's worldwide success to leverage opportunities in the Middle East market".

Transform Product of the Year winners were selected by the publication's editorial staff, leading industry analysts and consultants "for innovations and advances in technology, outstanding value and proven market success." In describing its selection of Adobe in the electronic forms category, Transform called the company's technology "useful for any organization."

"With only 24 finalists among the many content and collaboration technologies we cover, the Product of the Year 2003 winners are true standouts chosen from among an already select group of deserving products," said Doug Henschen, editor-in-chief of Transform. Transform Magazine, part of the Network Computing Enterprise Architecture Group is the definitive publication for over 54,800 business and IT managers.

Adobe Process Management Software has been selected by Transform Magazine as one of the top IT products for the Year 2003, in its end of the year ratings. The company's Adobe Intelligent Document Platform products, including the Acrobat 6.0 product line, the Document Server for Reader Extensions, and XML/PDF form designer were awarded first place in the publication's electronic forms category, beating leading competitor products such as Microsoft's InfoPath solution.
