- PRESS RELEASE
A public art phenomenon, no one could have failed to notice the colourful camels gracing Dubai's streets, roundabouts and malls during this years Shopping Festival.
On April 1st the camels, including THE One's Cameron, will go up for auction with all proceeds going directly to charity. THE One, however, are determined to go that one step further, and want to buy back Cameron to donate him to the playground of the Dubai Centre for Special Needs. To do this they need to raise a further Dhs 37,000 and as such are in full fundraising mode.
"THE One chooses to play an active part in many charitable organisations, helping to make the lives of those less fortunate just a little bit better and we encourage our staff and customers alike to participate in all our efforts," said Jane Anderson, THE One's Operations Manager. "Various weird and wonderful fundraising events are going on throughout all our showrooms in the UAE during the months of February and March so please offer your full support!"
THE One has had a very special relationship with Dubai Centre for Special Needs, a school offering education and extra support for those children with mental or physical disabilities for many years now, and very much hopes its customers will enjoy helping them to achieve their goal. One fundraiser already underway gives you the chance to win a gourmet meal for 8 people, cooked by THE One's very own chefs in the comfort of your own home. Raffle tickets are on sale at THE One's cafés and cash desks. The winner will be announced on 3rd April, 2004.
