- United Arab Emirates: Monday, February 16 - 2004 at 15:23
- PRESS RELEASE
HP (NYSE:HPQ) announced the opening of its first HP Invent Center in the Middle East.
The HP Invent Center is a center of expertise that focuses on the business of innovation. Its mission is to help organisations explore and innovate breakthrough business ideas. From a technology perspective, the primary motivation of HP is to identify where best-in-class technology products, solutions and services can be applied to enable business success.
Business executives are able to explore and expand their vision at the HP Invent Center and very quickly plan a route that will turn vision into reality. With the help of an experienced team of facilitators and knowledge experts, breakthroughs are made in achieving business goals by discovering how key enabling technology solutions can best be deployed to create business advantage.
Commenting at the launch event at DIC, Paul Jeremaes, Director HP Invent Centers EMEA said, "True business advantage is gained by harnessing smart ideas, and not just the latest technology. Our approach is to identify where key-enabling technologies can help to turn an idea into a business reality. A carefully tailored set of services is available to provide a unique and powerful innovation experience at the HP Invent Center. These services support the full lifecycle from spotting new opportunities through to solution and services planning for specific customer engagements."
The HP Invent Center team ensures that executive groups are guided successfully through the innovation experience. Business and technology specialists from the HP worldwide network contribute to the success by providing carefully research content to fuel the innovation process.
The HP Discovery Methodology provides a foundation for the design of each customer innovation event at the HP Invent Center. This methodology has been developed to ensure that the best and most appropriate ideas are discovered and that clear steps are defined for successful realisation.
The HP Invent Center applies a pragmatic approach to ensure that customers are able to quickly define a roadmap to achieve the overall business vision and establish a high-level of confidence that correct decisions are being made. Extensive use is made of 'rapid concept prototypes' to stimulate the innovation process. These prototypes enable a scenario-driven assessment of end-user experiences to be made and facilitate an exploration of the 'art of the possible' to show where technology solutions can have maximum impact. Importance is also placed on creating suitable environments, scenario-sets (i.e. end-user environment scenes, such as the home, office, mobile environments, public access locations, etc.) to evaluate these prototypes and to encourage further innovative thinking and consensus building amongst the executive groups.
"HP has Invent Center locations worldwide and it is a testament to the growth of this region in technology and HP's recognition of this which has brought this development to Dubai," said Joseph Hanania, Regional General Manger, HP Middle East. "The HP Invent Center will provide a stimulating and unique environment to enable our customers to experience the full power behind the meaning of HP Invent - we are looking forward to helping our customers realise real innovation in the future."
The HP Invent Centers have a proven track record with clients from all the major industry segments, who have all harnessed the real benefits obtained from the business of innovation. HP believes that the Middle East will benefit from a regional Invent Center much the same as HP customers around the world have done so.
"HP is truly a partner for Dubai's vision for a technology centre of excellence," said Mr. Mohammed Al Gergawi, Chairman of Dubai Development and Investment Authority. "To be here today inaugurating this inventive centre marks a further investment from HP to this region and provides an excellent arena for local and multi-national companies to explore and to harness the power of IT for now and the future."
