Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai launches wireless internet access in every room
- United Arab Emirates: Thursday, February 19 - 2004 at 14:26
- PRESS RELEASE
Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai teams up with internet service provider The Way Out to become the first hotel in the UAE to offer high speed wireless internet access not only in all public areas of the hotel, but also in each and every room.
With a 1 MB/sec dedicated lease line, guests at the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai need no longer worry about staying in touch with the office, or having to sit in business centres to access their mail and the internet. The hotel will even provide laptop owners with a PCMCIA access card, if their laptop is unequipped with a wireless card. With these facilities, guests can access the Internet, and their email, from their room, the lobby, restaurants, and even poolside!
Services offered include not only internet access, but a personal email account set up on check-in, billing for internet services direct to the room account, call forwarding and many more innovative facilities.
The Way Out, with offices in Europe and the Middle East, including Dubai Internet City, has already formed successful partnerships with several international hotel chains to provide seamless services throughout their network of hotels. High-speed wireless Internet access is also offered in Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts in Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, with others in the chain to join the network shortly. This ensures that guests who set up email accounts at the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai can use the same account in Egypt, Qatar, Bahrain - in fact, wherever there is a Mövenpick Hotel offering the service. Guests will also be able to log on to The Way Out's portal, offering local information, reservation services for hotels, restaurants, shows and other events, and a host of additional facilities.
To support this innovative move, the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai has created 10 Business Deluxe rooms plus 10 Business Rooms on the Executive Floor, each equipped with a laptop - at no extra charge. The hotel also offers guests the opportunity to rent laptops through the Business Centre, and has equipped the Executive Floor Business Centre with the very latest in laptops for guests to use during their stay.
The partnership between the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai and The Way Out is an exciting innovation, and positions the hotel firmly in the market for business travelers, and those just wishing to stay in touch without the aggravation of expensive business centres and carrying their own laptops!
