In addition to acting as official sponsor of the Players' Physio Unit, 3M Gulf will also work alongside the New Medical Centre (NMC) to provide First Aid services for all visitors who are coming out in their thousands to give support to their favorite players during the $2 million tournament.

The first Aid Unit is being set-up to also ensure complete comfort of all the spectators and to enable them to enjoy the tournament.

'3M Gulf Ltd is associated with this tournament for the seventh year in succession which makes it evident how much we are dedicated towards making this tournament a success,' said Dr Horst Hoeller, Managing Director, 3M Gulf.

'It gives us tremendous pleasure and sense of pride to be involved with a tournament as prestigious as the Dubai Desert Classic. For the past six years we have been actively involved in many aspects of the tournament and our support can be seen in everything from the players' Physio Unit to the 3M-branded carrier boards, marshals signs and scorers' buggies.'

Today physical fitness is as important to the pro golfer as the clubs in his bag and thanks to the on-site presence of a fully functional physiotherapy unit, the 150 players chasing the Classic title - sponsored by Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) - will be secure in the knowledge that everything has been done to look after their physical state.

'3M Gulf's leading role in the healthcare industry guarantees Dubai Desert Classic competitors a high-level of professionalism and medical services,' said Tournament Manager Adrian Flaherty.

Established in the region for more than 20 years, 3M has its regional head office in Dubai with additional branch offices in Abu Dhabi, the Jebel Ali Free Zone, Beirut and Riyadh.

Besides Dubai Aluminium (DUBAL) as the main sponsor of the Desert Classic, CNN International, The World by Al Nakheel, Arabian Ranches by Emaar and Samsung as co-sponsors, other sponsors include Emirates as official airline and Hole In One Sponsor; official caterer, hotel and challenge match sponsor Jebel Ali Golf Resort and Spa; Official Bank National Bank of Dubai; official courtesy car BMW; and event newspaper Gulf News.
