Al Mutaiwee calls on business sectors in Turkey to be more active in Dubai

Abdul Rahman Ghanim Al Mutaiwee, Director General of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, received Mr. Mustafa Koka, Chairman of the organisation 'Askon' and a Turkish delegation yesterday.

During the meeting, they discussed ways to consolidate bilateral investments and develope commercial relations between the business communities in Dubai and Turkey, in addition to a cooperation between "Askon" and the Dubai Chamber.

"Askon" is a private organization which includes more than 5000 small and medium companies. Its activities vary between contracting, banking, and textile industries, and its based in Istanbul where 1650 employees work.

Al Mutaiwee affirmed the importance of their visit to Dubai, especially to the Jebel Ali Free Zone, as he explained that JAFZ is very important in the exchange of information and the signing of contracts between businessmen on both sides. He added that it gives the Turkish side the opportunity to get to know the facilities and benefits provided by Dubai to develop trade and investment activities.

"This information will help you take the necessary steps which suit you to benefit from these facilities, and from Dubai's regional position, whether in manufacturing in Jebel Ali, or using it to distribute your goods from to the region. You will benefit from the great infrastructure available here, as well as the security, stability and the developed banking system. In addition to the fact that taxes, custom duty and difficulties do not exist" said Al Mutaiwee.

He also pointed out the importance of participating in the many specialized exhibitions and fairs taking place in Dubai throughout the year. "This will give Turkish businessmen with the opportunity to interact with their counterparts in Dubai, and promote their products and services."

From his side, the Turkish guest affirmed the importance of opening dialogue channels between businessmen and companies in Turkey and Dubai in all sectors. He also invited the Dubai Chamber to visit "Askon's" headquarters in Istanbul on the occasion of inaugurating a new office in the presence of the Turkish Prime Minister.
