BenQ brings innovative new cameras to the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, February 24 - 2004 at 10:12
- PRESS RELEASE
BenQ (pronounced BEN-CUE), the region's leader in digital lifestyle products, has launched two new digital cameras in the Middle East, offering increased functionality and a wide range of features to aspiring photographers in the region.
"Digital technology is rapidly replacing traditional film and video cameras in many homes in the Middle East, as people come to recognize how easy it is to swap files and share their memories with family overseas," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.
"Both new models combine state-of-the-art functionality with attractive design, and we think that, supported by an initial marketing push aimed at Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon and Egypt, they will be among the top-selling cameras of 2004," added Dung.
The new C50 digital camera is an advanced compact camera that provides a total of 5.0 mega pixels and a 3X optical zoom facility. Designed to be as portable and user-friendly as possible, the C50 has generated strong early feedback in the region.
It also offers SD card photo storage for easy file sharing, enabling users to share their memories with friends and family.
Designed as an "all-in-one personal digital entertainment center," BenQ's DC S30 is one of the first in its class to combine the ability to take photographs, play music, and record voice memos. The DC S30 combines a digital camera, MP3 Player, and an FM radio digital camcorder, supported by a 180º flip-out LCD screen.
Both models also support continuous video recording, offering an affordable and stylish alternative to traditional camcorders.
"Early response from our distributors in the Middle East suggests that the DC S30 and C50 digital cameras will be highly popular with consumers in the region. We anticipate strong sales in the coming months," concluded Dung.
