Dubai Duty Free goes for gold at the Dubai Quality Awards

This is the second Dubai Quality Award win for the airport retail operation, which won its first accolade in the Trade category in 1996.

Commenting on the award, H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation said: "The Dubai Quality Awards set a precedent for quality and excellence and has succeeded in making Dubai the regional symbol of quality. Winning an award of this calibre in the Gold category signifies a tremendous vote of confidence in Dubai Duty Free."

Accepting the award on behalf of Dubai Duty Free, Mr. Colm McLoughlin, Managing Director, expressed his thanks to H.H. General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum for initiating the Dubai Quality Awards and providing an international benchmark for quality.

Mr. McLoughlin added: "Winning the Dubai Quality Award in the Gold Category is particularly rewarding as this can only be obtained by previous winners. As such, this award is in appreciation of Dubai Duty Free's ongoing commitment to quality and I would like to dedicate this to H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and to the entire 970 staff who provide a quality service each day."

This latest award highlights an impressive start to the year for Dubai Duty Free, which began with the announcement of record annual sales of Dhs888 million (US$244million) and was shortly followed by a top industry award win during the Gulf & Africa Duty Free Symposium in Jordan.
