meUNIVERSITY educates undergraduates
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, February 25 - 2004 at 09:13
- PRESS RELEASE
meBANK recently conducted a training seminar at the bank's Global Training Centre on its latest product offering especially designed for university students.
The aim of the training was to give the students a general understanding of basic banking products, how a bank works, as well as brand management and a specific training on meUNIVERSITY products and how to sell them. This was done with a view to help change the cultural perception of university banking products as well as to help teach the students how to market meUNIVERSITY products to fellow students.
Conducted by two of the Global Training Centre's best trainees, Mr. Yasir and Mr. Anand, the session started with a presentation covering general subjects on banking and finance such as, history of banking, how a bank functions, factors influencing the business and customer segmentation, before moving on to discuss meBANK's positioning, meUNIVERSITY product offering, brand management and marketing.
The training turned out to be a great success as every student passed the training evaluation test that followed the seminar with flying colors.
Sunil Dayal, Segment Manager for meBANK said: "We have noticed that most students that graduate from University have little understanding of how banking products work and how to handle their own finances while being savvy bank customers. The training session helps address this situation by making the student trainees think analytically about their finances and how to successfully use and market banking products. We would like to convey the message that meUNIVERSITY not only supports students' educations financially, but also financially educates them."
While receiving their training certificates, students were pleased with the outcome of the day, as typified by Samira Kazim a Finance & Banking Student from Dubai Woman College when she said: "I didn't expect the training seminar to be such a great experience. The trainers were very efficient, and my classmates and I left the two day seminar with a thorough understanding on what a bank product is and how to market it."
Hussein Azzan, a student of University Of Wollongong Dubai said: "The training helped me realize how complete the meUNIVERSITY product offering is, as it fully caters to the needs of university students. Also, it showed me how closely involved meUNIVERSITY is in students' activities on campus and how much more meBANK wants to do."
