Up to 15 Iraqi ministers and Admiral David Nash (CPA) confirmed for 'Iraq Procurement 2004 - Meet the Buyers' event

Iraq Procurement 2004, an international event offering the exclusive opportunity for global companies to meet the key Iraqi business leaders and decision makers, has been scheduled to take place in central London on 26-28 April 2004.

The event has been organised with the aim of providing a forum for those looking for opportunities to gain contracts and sub-contracts for the work involved in rebuilding Iraq.

Iraq Procurement 2004 will be headed by a high-level delegation of up to 15 Iraqi ministers and deputies, who will be looking to meet joint venture partners, material and equipment suppliers and experienced consultants within the market, with the intention of signing procurement contracts. Unlike a number of events that have been held recently publicising reconstruction opportunities, Iraq Procurement 2004 will address the genuine need for an uninterrupted supply of materials, bringing together the key players in the UK with the purpose of meeting international companies capable of servicing the needs of Iraqi contractors. It will be far more than just a 'talking shop'.

The high-level event has already attracted senior-level representation from the world's leading companies, including ExxonMobil, Royal Dutch/Shell Group, Ford, General Motors, Volvo, Iveco, Microsoft, Dell, Cisco, De La Rue, Foster Wheeler, Amec, Al-Janabi Group, Pfizer and Dupont.

Admiral David J. Nash, director of the Program Management Office (PMO) of the Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) has confirmed his attendance at the event. "It is an honour to accept the invitation to attend the 'Iraq Procurement 2004 - Meet the Buyers' event in London this April," said Admiral Nash. "The event promises to be an important one for participants to understand the contracting process we have in place for the PMO and the efforts we are making to integrate and educate the Iraqi people into the reconstruction of their country."
