Dr. Kharbash confirms the UAE's support in restructuring the Iraqi Financial and Banking sectors

H.E. Dr. Mohammed Khalfan bin Kharbash, Minister of State for Finance and Industry, and Colonel Said Mattar in Belaila, Director of Dubai's Naturalization and Residency Department, met the Honorable Judge Wael Abdellatif Hussein, member of the Governing Council of Iraq and the governor of Basra, who is visiting the United Arab Emirates along with other Iraqi officials, to discuss opportunities for mutual cooperation, and possibilities to benefit from the successful experiences of the UAE in the financial, industrial, and investment sectors.

The governor highlighted the strong and brotherly relationship between the UAE and Iraq and invited the UAE to contribute in restructuring the vital sectors in Iraq, namely the financial and banking sectors. The UAE contribution, he said, can be done through investing in infrastructure and training of the professional Iraqi resources working in these fields.

Dr. Kharbash confirmed the UAE's continuous support to Iraq until the end of its current ordeal. "With its varied resources and experiences, the UAE is able to effectively help in Iraq's infrastructure rebuilding projects. The UAE will leave no stone unturned in helping our brothers in Iraq to rebuild their country", he added.

Dr. Kharbash briefed the Iraqi delegation on the UAE's experiences in the Financial and Industrial sectors, and about the role of the Ministry of Finance and Industry in the UAE.
