Aftron televisions reach record sales levels in 2003

Aftron, one of the many global brands in the electronics portfolio of the Al-Futtaim Group, has more than doubled its sales of colour televisions in 2003.

Having launched their range of colour televisions in 2002 the brand has been well received on the market.

Aftron started retail life by establishing their name in the air-conditioning and white goods segment. With launching colour televisions they made the conscious decision to enter the brown goods market with further plans that incorporated a full launch of brown goods in 2003.

Ajoy Mathew, Marketing Manager, Aftron said "Our sales results prove our success in penetrating the browns goods market despite ever increasing competition. The reason is simple we offer a product that is priced competitively and offers excellent value for money. The products are feature rich and aesthetically appealing - clearly a winning combination. Aftron colour television models have multi-voltage capability and multi-language OSD (on-screen display), which allows viewers to choose the language of their choice. Also, with 255 programmed channels, these models can accommodate the immense number of channels available in the region.

Ajoy continued: "Customers may think that these features increase the cost of the television, but we have kept this issue as a priority and can offer Aftron colour televisions at value-for-money levels. Our growth is due to our customers' confidence that our product is the best they are looking for. With this in mind, we look forward to continuing growth in the next year with opportunities in the Middle Eastern and African markets."
