CitySpace gives American University of Sharjah business design insight

  • United Arab Emirates: Saturday, February 28 - 2004 at 11:50
  • PRESS RELEASE

CitySpace, the leading Dubai-based independent interior design consultancy specialising in corporate workplace solutions, announced that, as a supporter of education throughout the UAE, its Design Manager, Nicholas Burnett, recently took part as an adjudicator in the American University of Sharjah's School of Architecture and Design.

Aiming to provide students with a greater understanding of the design business world, students were asked to present their services to a potential firm, elaborating upon a business plan used as the basis for the foundation of their 'virtual' company.

"I enjoyed the presentation very much. The standards being developed showed through in each of the 'companies' pitching for business and I hope the students' enthusiasm will continue into the remaining semesters and on into the commercial world," commented Nicholas Burnett. "As Design Manager here at CitySpace, I can say that we would be happy to discuss any internship that the students might request in the future."

"I attended CitySpace's Workplace Innovation seminar last year and brought along some of the design students with me," said Claude Berube FIIDA, School of Architecture and Design, American University of Sharjah, "so when it came to the students applying their knowledge in a real world environment, CitySpace came immediately to mind. I am sure many of our students will be knocking on the company's door soon."

CitySpace is committed to bringing workplace-related topics to the fore through a regular programme of seminars, thus helping companies in the region make better-informed decisions about their working environments.
