Rees Oil and Gas Services and Solas Marine Services win PDO contract

This three year contract entails provision of Multi User H2S Life Support Systems, detection and monitoring equipment, warning systems, related personnel and other ancillary services to work on various well locations in the Sultanate of Oman.

He adds: "We have supplied a number of similar equipment to both offshore and onshore drilling units in the Middle east. Hence, Solas is proficient in gas detection and breathing air cascade installations by now. Solas has highly professional team of engineers in our technical development department to cater the diverse activities in numerous turnkey projects for Marine Offshore & Oil Sectors." He further says that for a successful completion of project, proper planning, organizing and monitoring is required which was a key tool that enabled Solas to secure different projects in recent past.

Solas has a rental division for detection and prevention of H2S hazards. "The objective of this division is to help set up H2S Detection and Inhalation Prevention Systems on drilling rigs-onshore & offshore. The system supplied by the company provides early detection and necessary breathing air support for the people in order to protect them in H2S atmospheric conditions", Solas' General Manager adds.

Solas Marine Services also provides Halon Conversion and retrofitting with environmental friendly firefighting agents. "Solas is committed to a training cum development plan for Omani employees who will work on this project'' informed Mr. G.V.Krishna, General Manager of Rees Oil & Gas Services.

At the end, Mr. P.S. Kamath said that he hopes for a successful completion of the project with PDO. He feels that this business relationship will prove out to be another feather in their cap.
