Acer's commitment to quality recognized

Recognized for outstanding performance in the manufacturing sector, Acer was the only IT hardware company to be presented with a Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme Award.

At the ceremony, which was attended by General Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister, Acer's general manager, Krishna Murthy, accepted the award from prominent Dubai-based leading businessman Majid Al Futtaim.

"The entire team at Acer strives to achieve the highest possible standards of operational excellence, and this is what helps to separate us from the competition. At Acer, we understand the importance of providing quality, which is why since 1996 Acer has regularly updated its ISO certification," said Murthy.

"We aim to provide the highest standards of quality in order to increase our competitiveness on a global scale. On behalf of the entire Acer team, we are honoured to have been put in the spotlight at such a high-profile event as the Quality Awards," added Murthy.

The Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme awards, which are instituted by Dubai's Department of Economic Development, were designed to recognize small and medium sized organizations that have shown commitment to excellence in their development.

Acer was one of nine organizations to be presented with a Dubai Quality Appreciation Programme award, and the only organization from the IT sector.

"In the Middle East's technology sector there is a great deal of competition, and what makes the biggest difference when it comes to winning new business and keeping customers is the standard of the product being sold and the accompanying service," explained Murthy.
