This latest, purpose built factory, capable of producing more than 40 million litres of liquid paints & coatings a year is a result of all the hard work and dreams nurtured by Jotun's stakeholders, customers, suppliers and employees alike.
Installation of plant and equipment is almost complete and commissioning work has already started on the new Al Quoz facility, which is Jotun's biggest factory world over. It is built within a sprawling area of 50,000 m2 which also houses a trend setting office building, customer service centre, warehouse complex and distribution centre. The total production area of the factory complex is more than 10,000 m2, designed according to Jotun's stringent Health, Safety & Environment standards which focus heavily on reduction of solvent, vapour and dust emissions, observing all safety norms and keeping manual load handling to the minimum.
Tank farms and silos with a storage capacity of more than 1000 tons of major raw materials are strategically installed around the factory through which liquids and powders can be pumped directly into production tanks with the help of computers. This along with other innovative material handling and HVAC systems will not only drastically cut production turnaround times but will also make this paint factory one of the best places to work in the MENA region. Closed production equipment, water recycling systems, automatic fire detection & explosion proof production equipments ensure that the new Jotun Paints factory remains a safe and healthy place to work for its proud employees.
As part of our ambitious plans this year, Jotun UAE will conduct a special factory opening event on the 29th March 2004. This proud event will be a landmark chapter in the history of Jotun Paints worldwide and will contribute positively to the industrial development in the UAE. Our new, modern paint factory will be officially inaugurated by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minster of Finance and Industry and the Foreign Minister of Norway Mr. Jan Petersen.
