One of the many Tech Data initiatives that falls under the company's year long "Build VAR Business with Tech Data", the bundle aims at helping resellers expand their revenue opportunities as more and more small to medium businesses shift their spending from large solution providers to the low-end reseller channel.
"When we give the reseller channel access to best technology brands along with competitive pricing schemes, and when we put together for them solutions that they can plug and play at end-users' site, we would be helping them gain end-users' buy-in of the technology, with little complications," explains Eliot Shepherd, marketing director at Tech Data. "We know that the spending power is there: all that resellers have to do is go out and grab it."
The U.S.Robotics bundle available exclusively through Tech Data presents the perfect solution for networking PCs together and for sharing broadband Internet connections through the use of a connecting broadband router designed to meet the small to medium businesses needs. "Our plan in the Middle East is to bring full product lines to help small to medium businesses in the Middle East get online, without having to dig deep into their pockets. To do that, we are positioning products across the board so that everyone has a U.S.Robotics solution that will help him alleviate access and cost issues," said Yusuf Syed, regional sales manager, Middle East and India. "By tying up this proposition with Tech Data, we ensure efficient management of bundle along with the widest reach to the channel."
The latest research on the reseller market has shown that in 2001, resellers' business with the enterprise market dropped to 34% from 60% in 2000. On the other hand, resellers' revenue from the Small to medium businesses increased from 47 to 50% in 2001. "This trend is by all means an opportunity to the middle and low end reseller channel since it gives them access to spending opportunities from 86% of the GCC businesses," ended Shepherd.
