Tagged LearnOnline, the e-learning service is hosted by EIM and Element K, the leading global e-learning provider, supplies the content. The service has been launched to the public since October last year.
Supplied by Harvard Business School Publishing, the Business and Professional Development section, which constitutes a large part of topics available, provides extensive courses in management, finance, e-business, leadership and many other business categories. The IT section, meanwhile looks at more advanced courses in programming languages, databases and web development in addition to a wide range of advanced IT certificates from leading vendors including Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, SUN and Novell. The Desktop computing courses include courses on essential PC applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Many of the titles in this section will be also available in Arabic.
'In addition to the diversified Internet access services, we have been introducing a wide range of online services to subscribers in UAE,' said Maroua Naim, General Manager EIM. 'LearnOnline's objective is to help Internet users improve their core skills and acquire the knowledge required in today's highly competitive environment. We believe that our cost effective, high quality service with interactive libraries in both Arabic and English as well as the variety of learning methods such as the extensive use of audio and visual technologies are tailored made to meet any learner's needs.'
All new courses, in addition to the existing menu, have been scrutinized to ensure cost effectiveness, with the annual subscription ranging from AED 98 per series, up to AED 599 for the advanced certified courses. For this price, users access a series of individual courses on a specific topic.
'Currently, only EIM subscribers are able to purchase courses from the site www.LearnOnline.ae using their Internet accounts,' commented Ashraf Gameel, Marketing Manager Internet Services, EIM. 'Looking further ahead, non-subscribers will be able to purchase courses online using a secure credit card payment. In addition, several other areas are in the planning, including language libraries and a variety of lifestyle tutorials. Online conferencing and an events facility are also planned.'
'One of the most interesting aspects of our LearnOnline service is the Learning Management System (LMS) 'KnowledgeHub', which tracks and assesses the users' progress online throughout the courses and bookmarks topics and useful links,' concluded Ashraf Gameel.
