  • PRESS RELEASE

Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital convergence technology, has recently launched two new high-definition (HD) LCD Projection Televisions (PJTV) for consumers in Middle East.

The launch of two new models, the SP-46L5 and SP-56L5, takes the total number of Samsung's HD LCD Projection televisions to five, making it the only company in Middle East to offer an extensive range.

"The launch of Samsung's new HD LCD Projection televisions will revolutionise display technology in the region," said Mr. H. J. Park, Senior Manager, Sales and Marketing, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "Already a regional leader in the display industry, Samsung is capitalizing on its proven track record of success to offer a new generation of high-end - 46-inch and 56-inch - HD LCD projection televisions that exceed performance levels of existing plasma and projection televisions available in the market," Mr. Park added.

The HD LCD Projection televisions, featuring Samsung's DNIe™, achieve superior image quality by motion optimiser, contrast enhancement, detail enhancement, and colour optimiser. The newly launched models boast a number of visual enhancement measures such as the triple LCD panels, each producing 920,000 pixels, and adding up to a total of 2.76 million high-definition pixels (1280x720x3). Furthermore, the TV uses innovative visual algorithm - 500cd/m2 brightness and 600:1 contrast ratio, to provide real-to-life like images. Its three-dimensional analysis generates still pictures as well as motion pictures without blurring or noise.

"The Samsung range of HD-LCD Projection Televisions distinguishes itself through superior clarity and vastly enhanced viewing angle, brightness and response time," said Mr. Ashraf Sajid, Sales and Marketing Manager, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "This is the ultimate tabletop home theatre solution, combining state-of-the-art digital picture quality and features such as the DVI interface with a slim and attractive design. Furthermore, the 46" version was recently awarded one of the world's most important design accolades, an Eisa Award, for its sleek, clean and narrow space saving design."
