Woibex Business Women Forum and Middle East Women Achievements Awards take place on March 8th, The International Women's Day

The Sixth Woibex Business Women Forum will be held on 8th March 2004 at the Le Meridian Hotel, Dubai.
Ms.Laura Liswood, Co-founder and Secretary General of Council of Women World Leaders, Director of The Goldman Sachs Group US and internationally recognized author is the keynote speaker at the conference. Ms. Laura Liswood will give the audience an insight into her life and speak of the benefits that a Leadership approach can bring to one's professional life. Ms. Ruth Field, Managing Director of Joshua Consulting UK and Ms. Sana Bagersh, Marketing Services Manager of Thuraya Satellite Telecommunications Company UAE are the other two speakers who will also address the conference.
Mr. Nadr Hadj Hammou, United Nations Resident Representative of the UAE, will join the event and deliver the United Nations International Women's day message. The organizers has extended invitations to representatives from various Embassies, Government departments, senior government officials, Business Leaders, Decision makers from multinational organizations, CEOs and Managing Directors to attend the awards ceremony.
The awards are presented to women achievers from the region. The awards categories are Woman of the year, Best Social Contribution, Best Business Professional, Best Management Professional, Best Contribution in Information Technology, Best Middle East Woman Entrepreneur, and Best Woman Contribution in Regional Business & Trade Development.
Ali Al Kamali Chief Organizer and Managing Director of Datamatix said "Women make a major contribution to the economy. They have access to and control an enormous store of indigenous knowledge and wisdom. Therefore, despite their predominant role in the primary sectors of the economic development, women today, continue to be marginalized with limited access to public and private services. To counter these trends, the experiences and perspectives of women need to be heard, and their capacity for economic and social contributions to the community should be recognized and strengthened. This event is one small step towards this novel objective".
The forum is supported by Zayed University, National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Dubai Business Womens' Association and Karisma Ladies Centre.
Woibex Businesswomen Conference focuses on imminent issues related to women's involvement in today's competitive global market in business and technology and emphasizes on elevating the status of women in society. The 'Middle East Achievement Awards for Women', was instituted to recognize the entrepreneurial zeal of women in Middle East. The awards ceremony and the following honorary dinner will be attended by the distinguished guests from all over the Middle East.
