Nakheel's massive expansion leads to sales office extension

Officially opened just over a year ago the Nakheel Sales Centre houses many of the key operational staff on Nakheel's diverse range of 'unique and iconic' projects.

"We have launched several major projects over the past year including The World, The Palm Jebel Ali, Jumeirah Lake Towers, Jumeirah Islands, Gardens Shopping Mall and International City," said Wahid Attalla, Executive Director, Commercial and Operations, Nakheel. "The scale and ambition of these projects has clearly captured the imagination of people both locally and around the region. But this is only the beginning. We expect the pace of development to quicken over the months ahead and we clearly need to grow our existing facilities substantially to accommodate the rapidly expanding Nakheel team."

Additional features of the extension will include an Exhibition Hall where major events, seminars and conferences can be held and offices for the new members of the team. Parking facilities will grow by almost 50 percent with a total of 250 spaces available.

The architects for the extension are RMJM who will further develop the 'Arab eclectic' theme that distinguishes the existing construction and which will be a signature theme of certain properties on The Palm, Jumeirah.

"We will significantly enhance the landscaping around the newly extended centre," said Attalla, "with the addition of several new water features."

The additional features of the new extension will complement the extensive, existing facilities for visitors and potential customers. These existing facilities include touch-screen systems allowing visitors to view their property online, to research pertinent details and book appointments at the touch of a button. The building also houses an amphitheatre, which seats up to 26 people, forming the perfect venue for customer presentations and press events.

The main contractors on the project are AMBB Building, Dubai with E C Harris as the Quantity Surveyors. Work on the new extension has already commenced and is scheduled for completion in August of this year.
