Peribit Networks and US Telecommunication announce major partnership for the Middle East
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 09 - 2004 at 12:28
- PRESS RELEASE
Peribit Networks, the world leader in WAN application performance, announced today that it has formed a partnership with US Telecommunication, as part of the company's strategy to capitalize upon a market with an estimated total value of US$30 million over the next three years.
"Peribit is a leader in enhancing network performance and reducing costs by eliminating redundant data from Wide Area Networks (WANs). As IT budgets become increasingly squeezed, senior managers will need to identify cost saving initiatives. By working with Peribit, we can help them to implement solutions that will provide significant savings straight to the bottom line. In many cases the Return on Investment is measured in weeks, not months," said Sami Bazzari, channel and business development manger, US Telecommunication.
Peribit has made significant business gains in the Middle East, as companies look to improve the performance of their networks by cutting the number of repeated data patterns on their bandwidth, freeing up space for business-critical information. Peribit's customers include Dubai Municipality, Schneider Electric and Dolphin Energy.
"More than 40 percent of current technology budgets are spent on network and communication costs, representing a significant proportion of IT spending. Many of the data flows are repeat messages. This redundant traffic slows down the network and the applications running across the network," said John Rea, regional director, Peribit Networks.
The business benefits of Peribit's technology have been established the world over, creating significant cost savings for companies, and enabling IT managers to resolve network bandwidth and latency problems, and to ensure quality of service for end users.
"The total value of this market could grow to as much as US$30 million over the next three years, particularly in markets like Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the wider Gulf region. There is also significant potential for growth in territories like Iraq - where there is strong interest in bandwidth management solutions to help provide people with greater access to online communication. US Telecommunication has extensive experience across the region, and will help us manage future growth across the Middle East," Rea concluded.
Executives within US Telecommunication agree with Peter Firstbrook, Senior Analyst, Meta Group. "Easy drop-in deployment and dramatic performance results are the secrets to success in the bandwidth optimization market. When companies can instantly and dramatically improve application performance over a WAN with a product that typically pays for itself within a few months, they can solve the dilemma of satisfying user demand without increasing ongoing operations costs."
US Telecommunication predicts strong demand for the Peribit products, because of the proven "drop-in deployment" and the immediate business benefit they provide. Both companies are anticipating strong growth in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and, in the longer term, North Africa.
