This WaveCall Broadband-at-Sea service provides Internet speed at 512 kbps inbound (satellite-to-ship) and 128 kbps outbound (ship-to-satellite) speeds which can be upgraded to 1.5 mbps inbound and 256 kbps outbound.
The Sea Tel 4003 BMCS system provides high-speed services in the Americas, continental Europe and Mediterranean and now a new service in the Middle East. In the future, service growth is anticipated to include the Far East.
At just one meter, the 4003 is the same size as an Inmarsat-B terminal and also the Sea Tel Model 4094 DBS TV-at-Sea system for those who want the aesthetics of a matched dualdome silhouette. The broadband services offered with the Model 4003 BMCS are supplied by WaveCall Communications Inc., a subsidiary of Sea Tel, Inc. The service contract will be sold with the antenna and will include 1 Gb data transfer allowance per month. A service fee (calculated on a per MB basis) for data transfers over 1 GB, plus a low per minute rate for voice service will apply.
This new device will be demonstrated at the Dubai International Boat Show 2004.
