The event will offer attendees the exclusive opportunity to meet the key Iraqi ministers, business leaders and decision makers involved in the reconstruction of Iraq.

Iraq Procurement 2004 has been organised in order to provide a forum for those looking for opportunities to gain contracts and sub-contracts for the work involved in rebuilding Iraq. The event is based on a high-level visiting delegation of Iraqi ministers, their deputies, and senior ministry directors and counsellors. Also included in the delegation are a number of leading Iraqi contractors and their families.

"We are delighted to confirm the attendance of Dr Khudair Abbas on behalf of the Iraqi Ministry of Health," said Peter Swain, commercial director for the event. "This presents a wonderful opportunity for corporations within the healthcare and pharmaceuticals industry to discuss, face-to-face, opportunities within their sector in the ongoing development of Iraq."

While a number of conferences have been held recently publicising reconstruction opportunities, few have properly addressed the genuine need for an uninterrupted supply of materials and joint ventures, and none have offered the key players the opportunity to meet with international companies capable of servicing the needs of Iraqi contractors.

David J. Nash, director of the Iraq Program Management Office, Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA), has confirmed his attendance at the event. Iraq Procurement 2004 immediately follows the awarding of up to $18.6 billion in contracts from the Nash programme and is prior to the handover from the CPA to the new Iraqi government in July.
