- PRESS RELEASE
Three new native chefs have been appointed to three specialty restaurants at The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh.
With a spicy Italian accent and a big enthusiastic smile, Chef Marco explains, "To make food is all I ever wanted to do. All my life has concentrated on this. It is my first thought in the morning and my last thought before I go to sleep. My best dreams are about food, good food."
Chef Michel Ghawi brings to The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh more than 20 years of experience in Lebanese cuisine. In his zesty Lebanese accent, he explains his passion for the Lebanese cuisine, "Lebanese food, combines the sophistication and subtleties of European cuisines with the exotic ingredients of the Middle East. This colorful cuisine is the essence of the Mediterranean diet." says Chef Ghawi of Fayrouz.
With more than 17 years of experience, Chef Praiwan Sriplai joined The Ritz-Carlton, Sharm El Sheikh in February 2004. "I basically promote Asian culture, and food is a very integral part of the culture, history and lifestyle. To understand one's culture, you start with food because food is less controversial. Everybody has to eat! Food and cooking are about people; just as there is an artist behind every piece of artwork, there is a different type of artist behind every finished dish." says Chef Praiwan, of Blue Ginger, explaining his cooking philosophy.
