2nd edition of China Hong Kong Products Exhibition to be big and comprehensive
- United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, March 10 - 2004 at 12:03
- PRESS RELEASE
Far bigger and more comprehensive than its previous edition, the 2nd China Hong Kong Products Exhibition will be held from 14th till 17th March 2004 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
"The coming show will feature 180 companies from Hong Kong, an increase of 80% from the show's first edition. In fact," said Mr. Victor Chu, Chairman, Sunexpo Hong Kong, "it will be the largest and most important event of its kind in the Gulf region , virtually acting as the world's centre for sourcing consumer products from China Hong Kong.
"It will showcase the newest products made by Hong Kong in a wide range of categories, especially consumer electronics, home electrical appliances, lady fashion and garment, watch and clock, pen and stationery, toys and premium, lighting fixture, batteries and massage equipment etc. At the same time, the event will play an important role in boosting trade between Hong Kong and the Middle East region."
Mr. Fasahat Ali Khan, Deputy Director General of Expo Centre Sharjah said, "Hong Kong , the undisputed business centre of Asia, has for decades been a prominent supplier of high quality, branded products in American and European markets.
"Continuing on the success of its first edition, the 2nd China Hong Kong Products Exhibition offers regional companies the chance to explore the business potential with Hong Kong's trading community," he said.
The 2nd China Hong Kong Products Exhibition is among three similar featured shows in different parts of the world, pioneered by Hong Kong Sun Expo Limited in partnership with local chamber or industry associations.
"The reason we organize fairs is simple," continued Mr. Chu. "They are the single most effective market place for buyers and sellers. They also increase Hong Kong's value as an international marketplace for ideas and market intelligence, and not just products.
"The fact that the size of this particular fair has almost doubled over its first edition - through different economic cycles -- speaks loudly for its success. The key, of course, is to constantly improve our fair; to grow their critical mass and move them up to the next level; to facilitate the meeting of buyers and sellers and to make their jobs easier in a user-friendly setting. " Chairman Chu explained.
As an attraction to the visitors, over 3000 complimentary gift-sets will be distributed to the show's pre-registered trade visitors.
Commenting on Hong Kong's strategic advantage as a supplier of high quality competitive products, Mr. Chu said," Hong Kong exporters are strong because they leverage Hong Kong's full set of competitive advantages. Firstly, our close link with mainland China has given Hong Kong manufacturers the opportunity to set up their manufacturing units in China's competitive labour and production environment, while maintaining their high quality standards.
