- PRESS RELEASE
In celebration of its Tenant Excellence Awards 2nd year anniversary, Sahara Centre, Sharjah's landmark shopping mall, invited its tenants for an evening of awards and recognition at the Millennium Hotel, in Sharjah on March 2 2004, to share in the phenomenal success of the mall since its inception.
Sahara Centre created five categories to recognize the achievements of their tenants and honour their excellence, in terms of innovation, creativity, business acumen and dedication to customer service. The five categories included: Outstanding Retailer of the Year, Excellence in Marketing, Excellence in Customer Service, Excellence in Visual Merchandizing, and Excellence in Cooperative Marketing.
Commenting on the Excellence Awards, Gavin Cox, Managing Director, Sahara Centre, said, "These award categories were created inline with the primary strategy of our business, to achieve excellence, so as to ensure a competitive edge in the market place. We are proud to say that last year this was achieved."
The Outstanding Retailer of the Year award went to Debenhams, whilst Aldo picked up the Excellence in Marketing award, and Al Jaber Opticals won the Excellence in Customer Service award. Daniel Hetcher received the Excellence in Visual Merchandising award, and finally Adventureland won the Excellence in Cooperative Marketing award.
According to the management of Sahara Centre, an important part of the Excellence award achievement was differentiated service levels. All of which was evident from the results achieved in raffle results, key media exposure, traffic numbers and the regular customer base, which now sees Sahara Centre as their own.
"Sahara Centre's vision to develop its guest experience within each area of the business, has turned the mall into the ultimate family shopping and entertainment destination which offers a unique experience for shoppers on every visit", added Cox
The Excellence Awards Programme, which was held for the first time this year, will become an annual evening of success and recognition, which provides the chance for Sahara Centre to share its success with the tenants whose investment and dedication is key to the prosperity and longevity of mall.
