The survey, carried out by Gulf Market Research, shows that 99 per cent of customers were satisfied with the quality of their cars, while 98.1 per cent praised Hertz staff courtesy and 97.9 per cent said they received quick and efficient responses when making booking inquiries.

The research company, which monitors customer feedback on all aspects of Hertz UAE's car rental procedure on a monthly basis, reported an overall customer satisfaction level of 96.3 per cent during the past year.

"Listening to what our clients say is the best way to critically assess our performance, we've been monitoring the survey feedback month by month and have already implemented some of the suggestions received," said Bob Farrow, general manager of Hertz UAE, which is part of the Al-Futtaim Group. "Customers are looking for new vehicles which can be booked with minimum of hassle and at present, the average age of our vehicles is less than five months, while a customer service centre to route calls more effectively will be introduced in a month's time."

The latest additions to Hertz UAE's fleet include the 2004 models Toyota XA, Honda Jazz and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Raider, which come fully insured and undergo a 40-point quality check-up prior to rentals.
