As the official technology supplier to the Ferrari team, Acer will provide notebooks, PCs, servers and monitors. The long-term relationship between the two organizations has been highly visible in the Middle East since the launch of the Acer Ferrari 3000 at Gitex 2003.

"It is wonderful to have such a high profile sporting event being held in the Middle East and the Acer team is pleased to be able to demonstrate how effective and reliable our technology is to some of the regions most influential government leaders and business people," said Philip Ashkar, director of sales and marketing, Acer Computer (M.E.) Ltd.

"By providing our technology to Scuderia Ferrari we are boosting the visibility of the Acer brand and this contributes to strengthening our position as a leader in the IT market," said Ashkar.

In conjunction with the world-class sporting event, Acer is running a channel incentive program to reward its resellers in the Middle East. The company announced today that 10 of its resellers will be given tickets to attend the final day of the Formula One event in Bahrain.

"At Acer, we recognize that our channel partners are dedicated to promoting Acer products to consumers. By selecting a group of them to attend a sporting event of this magnitude, we are demonstrating how highly we value them as part of the team that is driving our success in the Middle East," said Ashkar.

Since unveiling the Acer Ferrari 3000, which was designed to celebrate the relationship between the two organizations, the company has recorded impressive sales results. The red notebook, designed to meet the needs of fast-moving business people who appreciate stylish design merged with efficient technology, has been popular with collectors of Ferrari memorabilia in the Middle East.

"Since the launch of this notebook Acer has struggled to keep up with demand from collectors and technology enthusiasts in the Middle East. We expect owners of the special edition notebook to attempt to have it signed my members of the Ferrari team at the Bahrain Grand Prix," said Ashkar.
