EIM waives registration fees for its popular Internet Dialup service for one month
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 14 - 2004 at 13:43
- PRESS RELEASE
Emirates Internet & Multimedia, the ISP Business Unit of Etisalat, announced today a month-long promotion for new subscribers to the Internet Dialup service.
New customers will save the registration fee of AED 100 in addition to receiving free basic training on PCs and the Internet.
Organized in association with HumanSoft, UAE's leading IT training provider, the training will consist of a single 4-hour session and offer subscribers the essential knowledge required to enable them to use their PC and Internet connection with ease and confidence. Topics will cover an introduction to PC navigation, Internet & web browsing, portals (leading ones including EIM's AlBahhar and HumanSoft's E-learning), search engines and all e-mail related basics.
"Internet Dial Up still has a wide customer base in the UAE," said Maroua Naim, General Manager, EIM. "Many people prefer this access method being an affordable option when their use is limited to simple applications like e-mail and web browsing."
"Today's offer is an excellent opportunity for those who have yet to subscribe to the Internet," continued Maroua. "It combines cost savings and knowledge acquisition from a reputable firm in the area of IT training. For EIM, this offer is yet more evidence of our commitment to educate the UAE community on a technology that is increasingly becoming vital to everyone in today's highly competitive environment."
According to the offer, new subscribers need to visit the nearest Etisalat office to apply for the service and to receive their free training vouchers. To avail the free training session, customers need to call HumanSoft hotline to register at any of the designated training centers in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al-Khaima or Fujairah.
"We are very delighted to be part of this promotion with such a prestigious ISP like EIM," said Nadeem Younis, General Manager HumanSoft. "The courses we are offering today will encourage those people who realized the importance of becoming part of the Internet community, but feel they lack the basic knowledge to use the Internet."
The Internet Dialup service in the UAE is the most competitively priced among service providers in the region. Subscribers of Dialup pay a monthly rental charge of AED 20 in addition to usage charges that are rated AED 1.80 per peak-hour and AED 1.00 per off-peak-hour.
