Raya's regional staff meeting foretells strong Arab presence on the international IT & telecommunications map

Through video conference channels, Raya's annual staff meeting was witnessed by around 1300 employees in Egypt, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf and the United States of America.

A key note speaker, Dr. Sameh el Torgoman, chairman of Cairo Alexandria Stock Exchange ( CASE) gave a speech on the important role of CASE in reviving the Egyptian Economy and the benefits of listing companies in the stock exchange. This took place in presence of a selection of Raya's business partners and press figures who also attended the ceremony for granting awards to Raya's achievers and excellence awards winners.

In his speech, Medhat Khalil, chairman and CEO of Raya, announced the growth of Raya's revenue from LE88 million in 1998 to reach LE 757 million by end of 2003 with a profitability that exceeds LE 10 million, as a result of winning numerous national and regional projects including the network infrastructure for the Smart Villages, a multi-service network for Bank of Alexandria, virtual private network connectivity for more than 400 branches for Misr Bank and connectivity for a number of the National Post Authority offices in Egypt, in addition to call center outsourcing services to multinational companies such as Vodafone, Microsoft, Intel and HP.

On the regional level, Raya won numerous e-business projects for reputable corporations such as the mobile operators Tunisiana in Tunesia, Investcom in Lebanon, SpaceTel in Yemen and Syria, Yasra Food company in Kuwait, Al Musairiey Metallic Industries and Al Jomaih Holding in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in addition to call center outsourcing projects in the financial, health care, publishing and automotive industries in the United States of America and the United Kingdom of Great Britain.

With a focus on strengthening its ties with international technology suppliers, Raya won numerous awards, becoming the preferred partner for companies such as Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco Systems and Intel. This came as a result for Raya applying ISO standards and availing a pool of engineers and professionals certified by international associations and authorities in the various fields, including professional project management, quality assurance, after-sales service, and several scarce specializations in Internet technology and security. With such a track-record and qualifications, Raya is taking steady leaps towards increasing Arab presence on the world's IT and telecommunications map.
