- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, March 16 - 2004 at 15:49
- PRESS RELEASE
Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital convergence technology, has launched four new TFT-LCD televisions in Middle East, including the largest 40-inch TFT-LCD television.
"The demand for TFT-LCD is soaring by the day, and we can confidently predict that the future of digital entertainment is flat-panel displays. Since the launch of Samsung's first flat-panel display, nearly two years ago, the company has acquired over 50 per cent market share in Middle East," said Mr. H. J. Park, Senior Manager, Sales and Marketing, Samsung Gulf Electronics. "In 2004, our ambition is to reiterate this leadership position by capitalising on our core competency in TFT-LCD panels, and continue to up the entertainment benchmark by launching such first-of-a-kind products in the region."
Samsung now has the broadest range of TFT-LCD TVs from15" to 40". Samsung LCD televisions, featuring the company's DNIe™, achieve superior image quality by motion optimiser, contrast enhancement, detail enhancement, and colour optimiser. Furthermore, the new products offer versatile features with high, quality, full HDTV functionality, including an innovative visual algorithm - 500cd/m2 brightness and 600:1 contrast ratio to provide real-to-life like images, 5.1 channel dolby sound for incredible audio and digital video interface (DVI) to transmit 100% digital video signal without any loss for picture-perfect images.
"Not only is the size, but the performance of Samsung LCD televisions is exceptional," said Ashraf Sajid, Sales and Marketing Manager, Samsung Gulf Electronics. Previously, a flat panel TV of this size was possible only with a plasma display panel technology, not with TFT-LCD which features crisper image, higher resolution, and much less power consumption. With the introduction of the new 40-inch TFT-LCD TV, Samsung shows off that its TFT LCD technology is ready to take the living room's big screen TV dominance."
