  • PRESS RELEASE

The Canon stand at this year's Comdex Jeddah 2004 exhibition was a great success with crowds gathering to watch demonstrations on the latest line-up of imaging and information technology solutions aimed at home and business users from Canon's Saudi partners El Ajou and Al Quraishi.

The show also saw the regional launch of the MP390, Canon's latest multifunctional solution that will revolutionise the way people use imaging and document management devices.

Canon's long-standing local partner, El Ajou, brought some of the latest offerings in the business solutions category, including Bubble Jet and Laser Jet printers, numerous multifunction devices, projectors, flatbed scanners and Canon's flagship Internet-aware "IR-i" series copiers that come in black and white and color. These copiers allow office workers to send documents via the Internet, archive them in databases, fax or make hard copy prints, all from the same Internet-copier. The partner also debuted the SmartBase MP390, a multifunctional solution that give Canon customers the opportunity to utilize several functions such as faxing, printing and photocopying all packed into one handy, easy to use device.

"Comdex Jeddah was a huge success and we are very pleased to have been part of it. It is a great opportunity for us to get closer to our local customers and get further insight into their business needs and requirements so that we can meet them with our huge assortment of Canon solutions," said Mr. Mustafa Fouda of El Ajou. "Canon's business solutions are renowned for their speed and efficiency and these we believe are very important in addressing consumer requirements in Saudi Arabia."

Al Qureishi, which operates in Saudi Arabia as Canon's partner for photo-video products, displayed the latest digital video camcorders and digital still cameras which cater to the Saudi market's professional and amateur photographers, as well as the regular home users. Comdex also served as a vehicle for Al Qureishi to launch the latest in Canon's trendy IXUS i, the DM-MV 700, DM-MV 700i, DM-MV 750i, DM-MV X 150i cameras and Canon's EOS 300D EF camera that comes with a 18-55MM lens kit. Also on display were Canon's popular photo printers including the CP200 and CP100 that allows up to 10x15cm photo quality prints.

"We've had a tremendous response from visitors who were very keen on seeing Canon's latest line-up of digital and analogue cameras, as well the popular connected photo printers with many photography enthusiasts in the country preferring to print their pictures at home," said Mr. Maher Obaid of Al Quraishi. "Comdex has certainly provided us an excellent platform for us to promote Canon's recent product developments in that segment."

Canon customers in Saudi Arabia can visit any of the Al Quraishi and El Ajou showrooms across the Kingdom to see the latest line of Canon products and digital imaging solutions that were showcased at the COMDEX exhibition.
