Together they are gathering donations of new children's and babies items for Egypt's Sunshine Project.

This charity, based in Luxor, provides a home for foundling babies, generally taken in soon after birth. Once admitted into the Sunshine Home, the baby has a home for life.

DHL UAE was inspired to help gather donations through its sponsorship of Gulf for Good's 'Wonders of Egypt' challenge which will happen in April. Funds raised through this challenge, combining the best of Egypt's stunning history and scenery with 3-days hiking in the Sinai area and 3-days cycling along the Nile, will support the building of a new Sunshine home. A group of self-sponsored individuals will depart for Egypt in April, with a few places still available for last minute bookings.

From March 24th, contributors can drop off donations at DHL's air express centre at Terminal 2 near the Dubai Airport Free zone and at counters in Karama and Diera in Dubai. Donations are also welcome at DHL counters in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi and Jebel Ali. "Although new baby and children's clothes are appreciated, the most urgent requirements are for disposable nappies, baby food and new educational games and toys," said David Wild, DHL UAE General Manager.

"We will be working closely with Gulf for Good to co-ordinate this project. Once the donations have been gathered, we will then use our effective and timely express service to transport the donations to the Sunshine Project," explained Wild.

Gulf for Good said the DHL contribution is in line with its policy of delivering more than money. "Rather, we identify important and well thought-out projects that will use the funds wisely, and we work closely with charities to ensure that money is properly allocated and spent," said Brian Wilkie, Gulf for Good Challenge Director.
