LG Electronics introduces 2004 side-by-side refrigerator series in the Gulf
- United Arab Emirates: Saturday, March 20 - 2004 at 10:01
- PRESS RELEASE
A byword for sophisticated home appliances, LG Electronics today announced the unveiling of no fewer than 95 models of its award-winning 2004 refrigerator series in the Gulf.
LG pioneered the world's first 'side-by-side' linear compressor refrigerators last year, delivering electricity savings for customers of a staggering 30 per cent. LG has further upgraded its linear compressor technology for 2004, slashing energy consumption by another 5 per cent.
LG's innovation efforts have not gone unnoticed by the international media. Home Magazine in the US awarded the refrigerator series its '2004 Kitchen and Bath Award', and the range earned top marks from global trade appliance magazine Appliance Manufacturer; it also won 'Energy Winner Prize of the Year' from industry experts in Korea.
Mr K.H Kim, President of LG's Middle East and Africa Operations, said: "LG has set a new standard for refrigerator energy consumption levels, and that is of direct benefit to our valued customers in the region. The 2004 side-by-side refrigerator series allows customers in the Gulf to invest in what it is arguably the most essential home appliance with greater confidence and peace of mind. At the same time, the sophisticated technology of the range in no way compromises the attractive styling and appearance customers demand of LG products. On the contrary, these products are the perfect kitchen interior design statement for every home."
LG's linear compressor breakthrough cuts down on friction and abrasion and therefore minimises noise. The 2004 side-by-side series also uses an environmentally friendly refrigerant, called R-600a, which doesn't harm the ozone layer.
What's more, the new range has important health and safety benefits thanks to its 'silver nano antibacterial technology' approved last year by a number of leading international accreditation agencies, including the FDA, EPA, ISO, and SIAA.
As always, LG matches its reputation for engineering with attractive designs. The 2004 series is available in a choice of colours, such as crystal silver, crystal white, red grape, and marine blue with striped patterns.
