LG Electronics reinforces global leadership at CeBIT 2004
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, March 21 - 2004 at 15:18
- PRESS RELEASE
LG Electronics has bolstered its international reputation for digital innovation at the CeBIT 2004 exhibition in Hanover, Germany, senior company officials say.
LG's representation at CeBIT is bigger than ever this year At 2,530 square metres, the company's booth is 150 per cent larger than last year's exhibition area and features a Digital Display Media (DDM) Hall and an Information and Telecommunications Hall.
Making room among the LG world-firsts on view to CeBIT 2004 visitors is LG's wire and wireless portal site for overseas mobile phone customers. Called www.wowlg.com, the site allows customers to access services directly from a mobile phone or PC, such as SMS downloads, images, games, polyphonic ring tones, and user information and software.
WOW LG is only available in Europe for now, but there are plans to gradually launch a global service portal catering to both GSM and CDMA standards.
Visitors to CeBIT 2004, Europe's largest IT and telecommunications technology fair, are also experiencing firsthand LG's pioneering efforts in home networking technology. The technology, based on LG's living network control protocol (LnCP), enables essential home appliances like the microwave, air conditioner, refrigerator and washing machine to link with each other via a Web browser or mobile phone.
"CeBIT is the undisputed showcase for our industry not only in Europe but all over the world," said Mr K.H Kim, President of LG Electronics' Middle East and Africa Operations. "As we demonstrate our technological prowess in capability and design for handsets, FPDs, and digital media, we are enhancing our global brand recognition and maximising sales in Europe and elsewhere."
The 270-degree rotating LCD camera phone - LG-G7200 - is arguably the pick of the latest generation LG mobile phones on show at CeBIT. It allows for screen rotation up to 270 degrees, video recording, mobile image recording, and playback and receipt/transmission of mobile images via video MMS.
LG has also unveiled at CeBIT dual-band mobile phones (models: LG-U8150) with a 2.2-inch 260,000-pixel colour TFT-LCD, and a high-performance 300,000-pixel (VGA) built-in camera.
