- Saudi Arabia: Sunday, March 21 - 2004 at 16:22
- PRESS RELEASE
BenQ Middle East, the region's leader in digital lifestyle products, today announced it is will showcase its most innovative products, designed to meet lifestyle and work needs in the Kingdom during Gitex Saudi Arabia 2004.
The company, which is promoting its latest range of products in Saudi Arabia, expects its latest innovative technology will help the company to achieve its ambitious growth target of increasing sales by 10 percent in the Kingdom over the summer period.
"BenQ is growing rapidly in the Kingdom, so it is important that we keep up our output of new products in order to satisfy the market. By introducing innovative, well-designed and affordable technology, we have been able to grow our overall business in Saudi Arabia by 15 percent in the past year," said Robert Dung, managing director, BenQ Middle East.
"We've set an aggressive sales target of 10 percent growth by August 2004," said Dung. "Increased promotions, closer co-ordination with our Saudi partners, and promoting our products during events like Saudi Arabia Gitex will help us to achieve this target."
At the end of 2003, BenQ commissioned a new research study, conducted by ACNielsen, examining demand for technology in the Kingdom.
"The research shows that young consumers in Saudi Arabia are prepared to invest their money in laptops, digital cameras, and DVD writers," said Dung. "At BenQ we offer the market's most innovative, well-designed and functional technology, and are eager to capitalize upon the considerable potential of the Saudi market."
Displaying the Best of BenQ During Gitex Saudi Arabia
To demonstrate how people can use various BenQ products in their homes to create the ultimate 'home-entertainment' zone, the company is showcasing its Joybook range, digital projectors, LCD monitors and televisions, and digital cameras.
Expected to attract a lot of attention at the show is the new Joybook 6000, which is being launched in the Kingdom at the event. Equipped with the latest specifications, the Joybook 6000 brings BenQ's "digital hub" technology to the professional market.
Business people in Saudi Arabia will get the chance to see the Joybook 6000, which is the world's first 12.1 inch high definition wide-screen notebook computer, up and running at the event.
Incorporating long-life battery power, wireless Internet accessibility and easy projector attachment, the Joybook 6000 features a lightweight and slim design that makes it exceptionally portable, providing an ideal solution for professionals on the move.
While much of the company's efforts around the digital hub in the region have focused upon the home - enabling users to interlink entertainment options via the home computer - the Joybook 6000 offers an opportunity to import the concept into the office.
Boost for photographers in Saudi Arabia
At Gitex Saudi Arabia, photography enthusiasts are expected to take an interest in BenQ's two most recently released digital camera - the C50 and S30 models. After achieving success in the segment last year, BenQ is confident that with a wider range of choice for consumers it is positioned to capture a majority share of the highly competitive market in 2004.
"Both new models combine state-of-the-art functionality with attractive design, and we think that, supported by an initial marketing push aimed at Saudi Arabia, the cameras will be among the top-selling in the sector during 2004," said Dung.
Both models also support continuous video recording, offering an affordable and stylish alternative to traditional camcorders.
Keeping its focus on cross-over technology, BenQ is also promoting its latest range of 15" and 17" screen LCD monitors and its newest projector models, including the latest seven models to hit the market - the PB8120, PB8220, PB8230, PB7200, PB7220 and PB2220.
In addition, BenQ is also launching a range of 26" and 30" LCD televisions at the exhibition, cementing its dominant position in this rapidly growing market.
"Customers in Saudi Arabia are sure to be impressed by the convergence possibilities that are available with BenQ products. We are excited about showing the people of Saudi Arabia our innovative technology," said Dung.
