Sony Computer Entertainment and Emirates Airline launch month-long promotion for This Is Football 2004 on PlayStation
- United Arab Emirates: Monday, March 22 - 2004 at 09:53
- PRESS RELEASE
To kick off the launch of its first-ever Arabic gaming title - This Is Football (TIF) 2004 - Sony Computer Entertainment yesterday announced that it has teamed up with Emirates in a regional consumer promotion.
The trip includes return Emirates flights for the winner and a companion between their home country and Düsseldorf, first-class match tickets and two nights in a Düsseldorf hotel. The promotion will cover the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Lebanon.
Sony Gulf FZE Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa said: "This one-of-its-kind joint promotion is a win-win combination for both Sony and Emirates, and offers unmatched value to buyers of our first-ever Arabic gaming title.
"We are extremely excited about our association with Emirates and confident that football fans in the GCC will find it an unusual and thrilling opportunity to fly to Germany and watch the famed Champions League final -- live."
Emirates will fly eight winners and their partners to Düsseldorf for the eagerly-awaited Champions League Final. Their names will be chosen at random from buyers of TIF2004.
To spread the benefits of the promotion throughout the region, each country will be allocated a specific number of winner(s) - two each for the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and one each for the rest.
Mr. Tamagawa added: "The only thing that buyers of TIF2004 need to do to have the chance to be part of this exciting draw is to fill in the coupon which comes with the game and leave it at one of a number of selected outlets. The winners' draw takes place on 24th April 2004."
Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, said: "As a leading backer of sports, regionally and globally, we are happy to have the opportunity to support this promotion for TIF2004, Sony's first-ever Arabic gaming title.
"Gaming is a high-growth sector in our region, and Sony PlayStation leads the way in the delivery of a superior gaming experience."
