- United Arab Emirates: Monday, March 22 - 2004 at 15:49
- PRESS RELEASE
The Dubai Travel and Tour Agents Business Group will be holding its General Body Meeting on 23rd March, 2004 at 4.30 p.m. at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Auditorium.
Since its formation in April 2003, under the DCCI's initiative, and subsequent to the election of an Executive Committee in August 2003, the Group has met on a number of occasions to finalize the objectives and the Constitution of the Group, which has now been approved by the DCCI.
The Executive Committee, at its meeting held on Sunday, 21st March, 2004, finalized the membership formalities, the budget for the coming year, as well as the preparation for the election to the three important sub-committees namely Membership Committee, Legal Committee and the Market Governing Committee.
Mr. Al Banna assured that establishing the business groups came in the forefront of DCCI's steps towards implementing its new strategy, in order for the business groups to be a true representation of the economic sectors in Dubai, and develop communication with the Chamber's members. He clarified that this also allows DCCI to study their suggestions within the framework of their sectors, as well as act as a link between them and the bodies in charge locally and internationally. There are 13 business groups to date, but this number is expected to increase in the near future.
Mr. Rashid Al Noori, Chairman of the Executive Committee said "I am extremely pleased at the interest shown by the fellow travel agency owners and managers to ensure the success of this business group. The Government of Dubai has given us an opportunity to unite our voices in the market place to benefit the travel trade in general and our valued customers in particular".
"I am also grateful for the support we have received from DCCI to this venture and I sincerely believe that at our forthcoming meeting on 23rd March, we will have attendance from all partners and that we will be able to establish the membership of all active travel and tour agents in Dubai", Mr. Al Noori added.
